Gerald Redburg

Gerald coached the boy's varsity basketball team for 10 of his 31 years at Curtis. He also coached Curtis' tennis team for six years.

Born Aug. 6, 1935, Redburg graduated from Yelm High School in 1953. He attended Pacific Lutheran College, graduating in 1958, and earned his MA in Teaching of Match at the University of Oregon.

Redburg taught for two years at North Thurston High School and for 31 years at Curtis. During his 10-year coaching tenure, Redburg led the Vikings to 141 wins against 70 losses, with three league titles.

He was a longtime baseball and softball umpire in the area now resides in Lacey.
