Mike Mullen

Mike was an assistant coach for the Curtis basketball team from 1969 to 1971. He graduated from Bellarmine High School in 1956 and attended Seattle University. Tacoma's Stewart Junior High offered him his first basketball coaching experience, from 1961 to 1968

For Mike, an assistant coach from 1969 to 1971, the 1971 championship season was early in what became a multi-decade coaching career. Mike was inducted into the Washington State Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 2009. In his career, mostly at Bethel High, he earned five state trophies in 11 appearances at the tournament, two district titles in 16 appearances, five league titles and five Coach-of-the-Year honors. His career record between junior high, junior varsity and varsity stands at 487 - 202.
