Cheney Stadium Summit Club | Join us on May 8th for the Tacoma-Pierce Athletic Commission's monthly meeting! Social hour will be from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the meeting from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cheney Stadium. This meeting will be a special one, as we will be honoring the Athlete of the Year from both the University of Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran University. Cheney Stadium Summit Club | Join us on September 11th for the Tacoma-Pierce Athletic Commission's monthly meeting! Social hour will be from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the meeting from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cheney Stadium. The meeting will include a timely and dynamic conversation on the current state of college football. The program will be moderated by Jay Stricherz, longtime college football referee, and will feature three standout voices with deep roots in our region’s sports community: · Torey Hunter – Curtis High School graduate, WSU star defensive back and returner, NFL and CFL veteran, and longtime college coach and administrator. · Christian Caple – University of Washington graduate, UW football insider for Seattle Sports, and publisher of On Montlake, with reporting experience at The Athletic, Tacoma News Tribune, and more. · Mike Levenseller – Curtis High School graduate, WSU All-American wide receiver, NFL and CFL player, and celebrated wide receivers coach at WSU for nearly two decades, including two Rose Bowl appearances. Together, these panelists will bring unique perspectives as athletes, coaches, journalists, and leaders to a wide-ranging discussion on where college football is today — and where it’s headed.
