Frank Manowski’s commitment to basketball is reflected in 48 years of service-18 years with the Western Washington Basketball Officials Association covering boy’s games and the past 30 years working girl’s games for the Tacoma Basketball Board. From 2011-2015 Frank on the John Webster Scholarship Selection Committee, he served four years on the TBB Executive Board and one year as president. During his career Frank has received post-season tournament assignments over a span of 15 years and in 2010 he received the WOA Meritorious Service Award. A 1960 graduate of Enumclaw High School where he played baseball and basketball, Manowski was employed with the King County Parks Department as a Recreation Coordinator overseeing the entire youth and adult recreational program for the community. In 1968 Frank attended the very first National Special Olympics Meet as a member of the coaching staff for the State of Washington team. An avid slowpitch player since 1966, Frank’s team won a gold medal last year at the Huntsman World Senior Games in Utah in the 70 and over division.
