Tina Preece began her officiating career in 2005, giving her a new experience in the sport she loved. After both playing and coaching volleyball, refereeing gave her the opportunity to get back on the court. Preece's refereeing career has survived the challenges of pregnancies and caring for ill parents and has progressed to a greater role in the Tacoma-Pierce County Volleyball Officials Board. She has served as the second-vice president on the board and has also worked as a trainer for new officials. Preece played volleyball at Kofa High School in Yuma, Ariz., along with Central Kitsap and Highline Community College. She coached at Bremerton High School from 1994 to 2001. Born in Provo, Utah, Preece moved numerous times while growing up and was first introduced to volleyball as an elementary schooler in Germany. Today she lives in Spanaway and works as a hair designer.
