It is with sadness that I share the news of long time TAC member Jack Warnick's passing on Tuesday, November 21st.

Jack, 91, is remembered lovingly by his three sons, Todd Warnick (Minette), Mark Warnick, and Craig Warnick (Janet), his daughter, Lisa Fein (Warren), his seven grandchildren, Michal, Alon (Orit Avichzer), Gil, Ben, and Elliana Warnick, and Samuel and Jacob Fein, and his brother, Fred Warnick.

Jack was a highly respected community leader and a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His legacy of leadership and participation spanned seven decades and dozens of civic organizations and activities. He was the first Jewish member of the Tacoma City Council and he served two terms as the city's deputy mayor.

Jack was born and raised in Tacoma and was an active member of the Jewish community throughout his life. Judaism and Israel were important to him. Just last month he returned from a visit to Israel, where he spent time with the families of two of his sons.

Rabbi Emeritus Bruce Kadden and Cantor Geoff Fine will co-officiate at the funeral service that will occur this Sunday, November 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Temple Beth El 5975 S. 12th Street, Tacoma, WA 98465, followed by interment at Home of Peace Cemetery. A reception will be held back at Temple Beth El following the burial. The funeral service, interment, and reception are all open to the community.

Zichrono Livrachah, may Jack's name always be remembered for a blessing.
