Track & Field
Following a record-setting prep career at Curtis High School, Andrea Geubelle has established herself as one of the top field athletes in all of NCAA Div. I. Now in her third year at Kansas University, Geubelle earned her first NCAA National Championship this spring when she claimed the triple jump title at the indoor championship meet.

Geubelle’s junior year at Kansas was her most successful to date, as she won the Big 12 championship in both the indoor and outdoor triple jump and finished as the conference runner-up in both the indoor and outdoor long jump. She broke the Kansas program record in the indoor triple jump, posting a mark of 13.67 meters (44-10 ¼ feet) and earned first-team NCAA All-American honors in both the indoor triple jump and long jump.

Geubelle tallied 11 total event victories in 2012, with three in the long jump and eight in the triple jump, and jumped a wind-aided 14.17 meters (46-6 feet) in the triple jump at the NCAA West Prelims on May 26, ranking No. 1 among all Americans in any condition this year. Going into the 2012 NCAA Outdoor National Championships, she has qualified in the triple jump and the long jump for the third straight season.

As a sophomore, Geubelle placed eighth at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships with a personal-best mark of 13.02m (42-8 ¾ feet) to earn All-American honors in the triple jump. During the 2011 indoor season she recorded first-place finishes in the long jump at the Bob Timmons Challenge (18-9 feet) and the Arkansas Last Chance (20-3 ½ feet).

The 2011 outdoor season brought more success for Geubelle, as she earned All-American recognition with an eighth-place finish in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She also competed at the USA Championships in the event, finishing with a mark of 12.88m (42-3 ¼ feet) to finish 11th. She placed third in the long jump at the Big 12 Championships and competed in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, finishing 21st at the national meet.

While at Curtis, Geubelle was a three-time Washington state champion in both the long jump and the triple jump. She won gold medals in both events at the 2009 Nike Outdoor Nationals and holds the Washington state triple jump record with a mark of 42-10 ¼ feet. She was also the 2009 Washington state champion in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.87.
